Amanda Bar. Dr. Amanda went from food stamps to building a six figure business fast. She teaches entrepreneurs how to transform their relationship to money and scale their zone of manifestation. Let's meet Dr. Amanda. Welcome, Dr. Amanda the Money Healer to the second X Success podcast. How are you?

Hey,

[00:01:48] Amanda Barrientez: Shannon. I'm great. So excited to be here. Excited to

[00:01:52] Shannon Russell: have you here. Your story is really quite incredible and we're gonna g dive into your story in kind of how you went from food stamps [00:02:00] to six figures, cuz that is very drastic and I really wanna know how that happened to you. So let's start from the beginning of your journey, maybe from after school.

What did you wanna be when you grew up?

[00:02:11] Amanda Barrientez: Ha ha. Well, it depends on what age you ask that question. You know, when I was young, I always wanted to be a surgeon. And the reason this is hilarious, because my dad was in real estate and I would go look at houses with him. And we lived in this area where there was like a lot of wealth and, and it was a lot of second homes.

And so we went into this house and it had like this climate controlled room with all this. I mean, just coolest features. I was like, dad, what does this person do? I wanna beat that. And it was a surgeon. And so when I was like most of my life, I thought I was gonna go to medical school. And then my, I had someone in my extended family who was a doctor and he took me to the hospital for the day.

And I like watched him. And then, this was in high school, and he said, you know, I wouldn't become a doctor. If I could go back. I wouldn't do it. And I was like, interesting. [00:03:00] So you really talked me out of it and you know, hey, now I'm a doctor, but of a different sort.

Yeah. So what did you end up going to school for? So my PhD's in sociology. My undergrad is psychology, and then my PhD in sociology with a focus on women and gender studies. In the middle of grad school I thought I was gonna be a professor. That was the track that I was on track for.

Loved teaching, one teaching awards, and really, really loved teaching. But you know, in the middle of grad school, this is really where my entrepreneurial journey began. It was I had a lot of ups and downs. So when I was on the floor crying and I had left my 15 year marriage having an affair, and my next relationship wasn't working, and so here I am sitting on the floor crying.

I'm already on food stamps in grad school and trying to feed my three kids, and I'm like, oh, wow. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I was already working an extra job. I wasn't getting child support, and so I was just, Scared. I've lived in a very expensive place and so I [00:04:00] had spent the day looking for houses and I couldn't afford anything, and I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna be homeless.

And so hear him crying on the floor and I sat up. And I was looking at the patterns of my life and I just thought, you know, what's going on here? And I really realized like I'm the common denominator. I'm the reason that this is happening. And so I made a dedication, like almost like a declaration. I wouldn't have called it that at the time because I didn't know what that meant.

But you know, I said to myself, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make more money and have better relationships because I'm really tired of this reality. And it led me to listening to podcasts. And so I started listening to podcasts and they were really helping my mind, you know, and just, I couldn't believe that most people don't have this information.

You know, I kept thinking, how grateful would I have been to have this in high school or as a kid and start learning like, oh, relationships are a skill. Money making is a skill. Anyone can learn this stuff. And I wasn't taught those things very, you know, I, I had a really challenged background with relationships, and so the same time that this is going on, my department had national news [00:05:00] fallout where.

We had professors leaving the department and just. A lot of stress. And I was like, oh my God, I don't wanna be a professor. This looks horrible. And so I was already far enough along that I thought, I'm still gonna finish and I also loved my research. I was working with incarcerated men doing life history interviews.

I was really into my research and I loved teaching, and I thought, I'll finish it, and then I'm gonna take the leap. Because all of those podcasts that I was listening to were by coach type people. Mm-hmm. And I was like, huh, I could get paid unlimited income. Make a way bigger impact and do what I love.

And so I just decided I'm gonna finish. And when I finished, I took the leap and then I went six figures in that first year of my business. I look back and I'm like, oh, I'm so grateful that all of that happened in the right time, in the right ways. That led me here because I'm s it's just been so rewarding.

Of course, there have been ups and downs in building a business, and it's been very rewarding to be able to do what I love and get paid to do it. you make it sound

[00:05:57] Shannon Russell: so easy when you say, oh, I'm, let's take the [00:06:00] leap. So let's break it down. So you're getting inspired by these podcasts and you're learning from them.

Which podcasts do I always say? It's such an incredible free resource for anyone who's looking to learn any skill, any type of industry. So you started listening and you wanted to build your own business. So what kind of business did you have in mind? Here you have this sociology, psychology background.

But you didn't want to go into that necessarily.

[00:06:26] Amanda Barrientez: You know, I pull a lot of it into what I do and I think that it informed. Well, a lot of the ways I think. I started out thinking I was gonna do relationship coaching. Mm-hmm. Because I had had such a challenging history with relationships and I really learned a lot about co-dependency when I started the Journey.

It was this one book that I read, it was called Co-Dependency for Dummies, and I had stayed up all night reading and it was, that breakup that I was having was really complicated with like substances. I fou found out he was lying to me and. I was hanging out with this friend and she's like, I, she's like, you sound like you [00:07:00] have codependency.

And I was like, I hadn't, didn't really know what that was other than thinking that it was about like having parents who were addicted to substances. And so I thought, well, that's not me. My parents didn't use substances and so I never really related it. And then I stayed up all night online reading these, you know what it means to be co-dependent.

And I was like, oh my God, this is me. And so I didn't sleep the whole night. I researched research and then the morning I drove to Barnes Noble and got the book from this woman who I was reading all of her research and I mean, everything in that book. I was like, this book was written at me. I, you know, I took, she has a whole bunch of assessments and it was like, I checked like every box, you know, and I was like, Whoa.

And so that led me to thinking I'll, you know, I'll do relationship coaching, but then what happened is that I started going to networking events. I knew I could help people and I knew I could help people transform and I knew I had the skills and tools for that.

And so I just would say something along those lines. And it would attract entrepreneurs of course, because who's at networking events, but entrepreneurs. Yeah. And so it really transitioned very quickly into working with [00:08:00] entrepreneurs. And at first I actually worked with a lot of entrepreneurial couples, which was really fun.

Oh wow. And so, you know, I like to tell people when they're starting businesses and they're taking leaps like that, You know, you've got to just start somewhere. You don't need to know the end result. I promise you. It'll look different in the end than you thought it was going to, and, and I don't know where where is the end point, but it's like, I love this quote by Rumi, he says, as you take a step on the way the way appears.

Mm-hmm. And that's exactly what I did in my business. I took a step, I tested it out. I played with it, and. I would just see like, does this fit? Am I attracting the right people? Am I enjoying this? And then I would pivot, and I just constantly kept pivoting until it's turned into what my business is today.

And I still pivot all the time. You know, it's like I don't want people to get stuck with shiny object syndrome. And yet you've gotta have enough willingness to surrender and detach from what you think the way is so that the universe can bring you opportunities that are even better than you thought.

[00:08:55] Shannon Russell: Right, because like you said, you were figuring it out along the way. And now let's talk about the [00:09:00] money piece cuz if you were really struggling with money at this point, how much money did you put into building the business? Because that's a question I get asked a lot by clients is, well, I wanna start this business, or I wanna take this leap, but I don't have that nest egg to help me do it.

Yeah. And you clearly didn't at that point. So how did you go about figuring out that financial

[00:09:21] Amanda Barrientez: piece? You know, I think one of the gifts of being on food stamps when I started my business is that I didn't have the money and so I hustled and I just, I didn't put money in. I built a website on WordPress, and ultimately all the people I worked with didn't never even go to my website.

Like it was from conversations that we had, powerful conversations in person. And then they'd hire me on the spot, you know? And so it was this mentality that I had was like, I only need $2,500 a month to live. Yeah. And that's one client at the time, for me, that was one client. I'm like, I just need one client to pay me 2,500 bucks and then I'm okay this month, you know?

And that'll keep getting me through. And then I don't know what's next, but I'll just keep going from there. And that's how it, and then, you know, I went to this [00:10:00] consult with this woman. She said, you're not charging enough. You need to double your prices. And I was like, Seriously, you know, I was like, that's, that's a lot.

You know? And so the next consult I went to, I on the spot was just like, we had this great conversation and then it just came outta my mouth, you know, it's $5,000 to work with me. And he didn't even flinch. And I was like, Oh my God, this is amazing. And I wasn't putting any money in, it was just going to networking events.

I would ask for people's cards. We would have good conversations. I'd set up a consult, we'd go to the coffee shop for the consult. We'd have a conversation, and then I would literally drive to their place of work or their house and do the sessions. And that was how I started.

[00:10:38] Shannon Russell: Grassroots, right? It's just totally, yeah.

You're letting people see your personality and getting to know you because you're so well spoken, you're so educated, so that when they met you, they connected, and then that probably gave you the confidence of like, okay, I'm in the right spot and I can grow this.

[00:10:54] Amanda Barrientez: Totally. You know, and I wanna, I wanna remind everyone, Shannon, cuz this is something I think where it's for [00:11:00] clients sometimes it's that automatic credibility with having a doctorate. Is there, I can't deny that. And I like to remind people, you don't need that. I mean, really what caused. The people to wanna work with me was powerful conversations, me asking them a lot of questions and then listening,

and so as I would lean into their conversations, I would just answer their questions and I would ask them questions. And that's really what good coaching is, right? And so, At the end, they would just be so alive and awake and they'd be like, oh my God, I can't wait to work with you. Like this conversation has been so powerful and in reality that had nothing to do with my education and credentials.

You know, it was really about caring about people and loving to solve the human puzzle, which for me is part of my zone of genius. You know, I love to help people get unstuck from their unconscious. Belief systems that are holding them back, because that was what it was for me. I will say the things I did pay for, it was an investment in my quote unquote business.

It was investment in myself going to workshops and learning, right? And so whenever I would get [00:12:00] clients and I would be above that $2,500 I paid for myself to go to workshop. Us And that really changed everything for me because I just kept self-educating and then I'd meet people at the workshops.

Every time I'd go to a workshop to educate myself, I'd get another client. So that would pay for the workshop. And it just, I just kept growing from there. And so, you know, I wanna remind everyone, I think that we overcomplicate things big time. You know, we to so many leaders and people who are ahead of us, and we think it needs to be this big, huge, grandiose thing that we're creating.

And you just gotta start somewhere. And don't overcomplicate it and go with what are my strengths and what do I love to do? So it's being bold enough to take a leap and then learn about yourself and go from there. I think that that analysis paralysis, especially for smart people, which I'm sure your audience is full of very smart people because you're smart and that's who you attract.

You know, it's like we overthink things, right? And we also feel afraid of our image and what people will think of us. You know, that imposter syndrome piece and. When you get trapped in those ways, it makes it really hard to [00:13:00] make take forward steps. Mm-hmm. And I think that's what a lot

[00:13:02] Shannon Russell: of my listeners are feeling like they're stuck.

I have kids, or I have a partner and I'm contributing to the house. How do I make that step or that career change? And I love your story because you found yourself truly stuck and truly figuring out what to do. And you figured it out with not a lot of investment in building this business.

You really use your interpersonal skills to go out there, figure out what you're good at, and build something. So what do you work with your clients on? Is it mostly getting over that money mindset issues, or tell us a little bit about what you do with

[00:13:40] Amanda Barrientez: your clients. Always mindset. First and foremost, people forget that you can have all the strategies in the world to build and scale a business.

If you don't have this up here, your head, your mindset, space, right, and you have misaligned energy, you are going to struggle. The main thing I always start people with this state of [00:14:00] being and your state of being is your thoughts and your feelings. And your beliefs around yourself, money and, and things that you wouldn't think of.

You know, it's not like someone comes to me and says, I know exactly why I can't get from A to Z. Yeah. Okay. Usually it's, they come to me thinking I wanna make more money in my business, and then we get to break down all the reasons they're not. Right, which are things that are hard to detect by yourself.

And so it's that piece of, if you know that you feel scared and you wake up in the morning feeling like you, you're not sure what to do and that, I love that word, I, I feel stuck because that's really what the feeling is. It's like I feel stuck and I don't know what to do. To me, that always goes back to some sort of misalignment piece, so it's somewhere in your system, you have a belief that is off and.

All of us do. So I love this piece too. It's like you're not alone. We all get stuck. Like, I've never met a person. I don't care how much money you make, what kind of business you have, what gender, race, class, any of those things, eh, I, we all get stuck. Yeah. And realistically, something that's been so [00:15:00] powerful for me to learn along the way of getting to work with a lot of different types of people is that we all get stuck in very similar ways.

We just don't think that other people are struggling like us. Yes. especially when you're in like, like I think in your position, like someone who leaves a corporate job and wants to step into business, that you have a lot at stake and you have a lot built into a powerful reputation. And so it gets even harder there.

You know, I call it the curse of the comfort zone because you're pretty comfortable. Life looks pretty good from an outside perspective, and so it's like, ooh, you gotta be real bold to take that leap and look like a fool because when you're starting anything new, you look like a fool. And not really, you know what I mean though?

It's like you're gonna feel like a kid because you don't know what you're doing and why would you, it's new, you know? And so I love helping people through that imposter syndrome and then get their mindset really aligned and unblocked so that the unconscious money blocks aren't holding them back, and then that way they can move through and progress really quickly.

It's so fun when. You know, an [00:16:00] example of like a client I worked with, he was already earning great income and we did his money story. I always have people do money stories and then we reframe and, and move in a new direction and within one week he doubled his income. It was like, wow, so cool. And I've had this happen with people so many times where they're like, Have this epiphany moment where they go, oh my God, I did not know that this one belief was keeping me stuck this whole time.

I can't believe I didn't see that before. And so it's the human puzzle. Wow. That I love to solve. So I do that with clients. You know, I work one-on-one with. Some I work with only a handful of one-on-one, but then I have a Mastermind for women. And then I have a workshop it's called N F A Money Breakthroughs. So helping business owners break through their money blocks in a group of people, small setting, 20 people. And so we're gonna do, you know, of all the strategies and, and break down any beliefs that we have that are keeping us stuck about money in a group. And so it's just like this transformational.

Intensive experience. Congratulations. That's gonna be amazing. Thank you.[00:17:00]

[00:17:00] Shannon Russell: And you're also an author of a bestselling book, so tell

[00:17:03] Amanda Barrientez: us about that. Yeah, it's sitting right on my desk. I Am A Money Magnet, the top 30 moneymaking aro mantras to manifest more.

And really, it's a workbook. I would say it's like a, it's a guidebook and it has 30 after mantras designed for you to do one a day, and it has over a hundred journaling questions to bring your unconscious. Beliefs about money to your conscious awareness so that you can reframe and reprogram. So I teach my NFA money formula and help people really dig into their unconscious belief system around money and then use, you know, we talk about affirmations a lot in the world, and if you're using them incorrectly, you're actually creating more resistance and it's gonna cause you to block the money.

So most people think like, oh, I'll use this affirmation over and over and over again. But if you don't 100% believe it in your subconscious, you're actually creating resistance, which pushes the thing away that you're saying you want. And so I teach people what I call Afro starter statements.

So it's 16 [00:18:00] variations on typical affirmations, and then you repeat and repeat and repeat 'em. But they're things that your brain 100% believes to be true. And that way you're not creating resistance. Instead, you're turning into a money magnet.

[00:18:11] Shannon Russell: Ooh, what is one that we could say today

[00:18:14] Amanda Barrientez: Well, so the very first one, the book is, I am a money magnet.

Everything I touched turns to gold, but here are examples of starter statements. This is really fun. I'm glad you asked that so instead of saying, I'm a money magnet, let's say you don't believe that and you're like, that's not true.

So you could say, I prefer being a money magnet. I prefer being a money magnet, or I am learning to be a money magnet, or I am in the process of becoming a money magnet. And you see the difference in that statement, right? Yes. I, you can learn to be a money magnet. You might not already believe that you are, but instead you go like, oh, I'm learning, and let's use an example for business owners, right?

Right. I'm learning to be a six figure entrepreneur. I'm learning to be a seventh figure entrepreneur. Whatever amount it is for you, I'm learning to be a successful entrepreneur. And instead of just saying, I'm a successful entrepreneur, I'm a successful entrepreneur. Your brain might [00:19:00] just go like, yeah, right, you're full of crap.

Right? And so you wanna say something that's believable to you.

[00:19:05] Shannon Russell: More specific to what you really believe.

[00:19:08] Amanda Barrientez: Yep, yep. And drop that resistance. So it's like it's ways that guide you in a direction of ownership of it and belief and enjoyment of the statement versus something that causes you to feel uncomfortable and frustrated because our feelings are always a guide.

If you're saying things that feel out of alignment to you, you're creating resistance. And resistance is the number one thing that causes manifestations to take longer. Mm-hmm. Oh, that's

[00:19:34] Shannon Russell: great. Hey there, my friend Shannon here. Just popping in quickly because I'm wondering, is this episode getting you thinking?

Are you starting to come up with ideas for your second act? Maybe it's changing careers, writing a book, starting a business, whatever it is, I am here to help. You can book a free discovery call with me so that we can chat about your next steps. So head over to second [00:20:00] act, success.co/coaching. Now, let's get back to the episode.

All right. I wanna dive into a couple of questions here. So, if someone wants to take a leap and change careers, but money is tight, what are a few tips that you might give them to start preparing for that change, for that second

[00:20:19] Amanda Barrientez: act? Hmm. I love the second act. I love the name of your, that's it's such a great name.

You know, I would say, It, it's so dependent on where you're at and where you're wanting to go. My husband just left his C-Suite job to come work with NFA Money, and so, you know, for us it was like, how much money do we have in savings? How much money are we willing to dig into to invest in new ways? Where are we at in our current business? So that would be like him jumping into an already created business. If you were wanting to start a brand new one, you know, create a transitional plan for yourself, I would recommend that you have three months of money saved up at least, so that you don't trigger this deer in the [00:21:00] headlights fear, right?

Because what happens sometimes is that people will take the leap and they'll go. I wanna start my own business. And either they won't take the leap because they can't see a pathway to do it, and so they sit in that place forever of wishing that they could start a business. So you've gotta be bold enough and just go, what's my bottom line?

How can I cut every cost possible for the next three to six months? And transition in a way that feels good. Now, that's, if you know you might have a partner who makes a good income instill, then you're gonna wanna have a transitional conversation and plan around it, right? Because there's, you don't wanna be jumping into and not making any money.

And so you've gotta think, what's my fastest path to cash? And how am I gonna do that by spending the least amount of money? That's always the way I think about it. Right. And so, you know, in that way, when I was on food stamps, so I didn't have a lot of money to pump into my business, and so I, I didn't have credit cards.

I didn't have a lot of money at the time. I had two months of money saved up and actually it was loan money that I borrowed from my student loans and put in a savings. I was just like, okay, these are [00:22:00] like my. My backup plan like, and then if I can't have something fly within two months, I'll go get a job.

And so that was my transition plan. It was very simple for someone just wanna do the same thing but with bigger numbers. And so you wanna think, okay, am I with being uncomfortable? There's that important question I think if you're someone who's very risk adverse, then find a client before you even quit.

You know? Or find some customers before you even leave your job and make sure you have the something built up in that pipeline. And so what that takes is being a master of your time. Mm-hmm. And so at the end of your workday, you've gotta be willing to put a couple hours in on your business and know that that's not gonna last forever.

But if you're someone who goes, I'm not willing to leave my job before I have a replacement income. The challenge there is that a lot of people will be stuck in that for years. It's a pipe dream. And instead you've gotta really be willing to take the leap and, and know your level of discomfort, your capability to move through discomfort.[00:23:00]

[00:23:00] Shannon Russell: Makes total sense I always tell even my clients that if you have a paycheck, you are in a lucky position. So start making that transitional plan while you're working. Yeah.

I love the idea of just maybe at the end of your workday, taking one extra hour before you go home or one extra hour before you go to sleep at night to work on your ultimate goal. Just thinking back to your story.

You knew you needed X amount to. Survive the month, yes, you got your client and then you said, okay, great. I'm good. I'm gonna keep working. And you were probably really uncomfortable in that transition am I going to get the client, am I not? And then it became a little bit more easy, and I think that's when you're starting anything new, it's just a little bit at a time and then you start growing.

So, I just wanna shake people and say, you get one life, try it. You can always,

[00:23:47] Amanda Barrientez: you know? Yes. I love that. That's so true. Yeah. That's the thing, is that you can live a life of mediocrity or you can really take the leap and be uncomfortable for a little bit and then get [00:24:00] what you want. I have on my board, short short term.

Easy is long-term. Hard and short-term. Hard is long-term easy. Mm-hmm. So it's like if you're willing to sit in the short term hard. You can have later a business that's awesome and successful, but if you're not willing to be uncomfortable in the now for a little while, working that extra hour at the end of the day, then you're gonna stay miserable in, in a job that you might not like forever.

[00:24:21] Shannon Russell: Such great advice. So a lot of my listeners feel like their money blocks are stopping them. Maybe their partner, isn't supportive of this change, of this leap. sometimes people will say, oh, you're crazy. Why would you leave that job? What are some Things that you would say to help maybe spark that conversation with a partner or with a family member?

[00:24:40] Amanda Barrientez: Yeah. You know, this is maybe gonna be hard for people to hear and I, I think it's really important who you share it with. You know, when you have a dream that's outside of the norm, be careful who you share it with because you aren't gonna be supported by everybody. And so, find the people that you [00:25:00] will be supported by.

I think part of the reason I enjoyed going to networking events was because it was a whole bunch of other entrepreneurs who got what I was. Experiencing. And so I think it's really important to surround yourself, even if it's just listening to podcasts like yours. You know, if you need support, hang out with like-minded people.

And perhaps let's say it's your partner who's not on board. Is your partner open at least to it. And over time you can start playing with the possibility of your partner supporting you. This is where values come into play big time.

You know, it's like, If you're in a situation where you aren't being supported by people in your world, it might be time to consider a revamp of who you're hanging out with. Mm-hmm. I've worked with a lot of entrepreneurs who don't have partner support, and ultimately that's something that is going to have to be addressed at some point.

You know, Just like you said, life is short and I don't, I don't have the belief system that you [00:26:00] have to stay with someone forever just because you got married. You know? I think that it's really important for people to be in a hundred percent with each other and supporting each other if you, if you're gonna be in a lifelong partnership.

And so I think that's something that's an indicator sometimes of being, I love this quote, and it's, it's an anonymous person. I can never find out who said it originally, but it's stop shrinking to fit the places you've outgrown. And that's hard for people because as you grow, especially as an entrepreneur, it takes a lot of personal growth to own your own business and thrive.

And when you do that, you're gonna find that a lot of the people that you've had in your life in the past probably don't fit you very well anymore. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's

[00:26:42] Shannon Russell: a hard realization, but you're growing as an entrepreneur, you're growing yourself

[00:26:46] Amanda Barrientez: so, Yeah, this is where my NFA comes in in a big way.

My company's name is N F A. No Fucking Around Money. Meaning like, I'm gonna say the hard things that you might not wanna hear, you know, and there's too many people in life [00:27:00] telling you what you wanna hear.

You can't grow if people are only supporting you. And so that's another take on, you know, if your partner's not supporting you, or if people in your life aren't supporting you, how do you perceive that? And what do you do with it is really what matters. It's not about them, it's about how you respond to it.

Because sometimes people do change and they go, whoa, you surprised me and.

I wish I had the courage to take a leap like that. Mm-hmm. That's what I

[00:27:27] Shannon Russell: found with my change, is that everyone came to me and said, well, okay, now can you help us make that transition? There you go. Yeah. Really, we are the only ones that can make any kind of change in our lives, so it's really looking inward first before you look to the outside world to support you.

Let's talk about your podcast, cuz you are a podcast host too, and I was lucky enough to do a little session with you on one of your episodes. So tell us all about your podcast and how you're spreading the word

[00:27:53] Amanda Barrientez: through that as well. Yeah, it's my baby. I love my podcast. It's called The Woman [00:28:00] Entrepreneur Podcast.

[00:28:24] Shannon Russell: It's just what we were saying. There's so many free resources to get really great inspiration and information, and your podcast definitely is one, especially if you are looking to start a business and become an entrepreneur.

I definitely highly recommend it. Where else can our audience connect with you? All of the places we've talked about, your books, and your coaching, and your speaking and your podcasts. Where can we find everything, Amanda?

[00:28:48] Amanda Barrientez: Everything, Amanda at NFA Money, so if they go to nfamoney.com, all kinds of awesomeness there.

My handles are @nfamoney I hang out the most on Instagram, LinkedIn as [00:29:00] well.

[00:29:00] Shannon Russell: And so how do you feel, last question about your transformation where you are today compared to where you were just a few years

[00:29:07] Amanda Barrientez: ago? That's so good.

Y you know, It is amazing to wake up in the morning and be. Excited for the week. I used to wake up, filled with dread and stressed to hell. I mean, just so much stress and fear. A lot of fear. And now you know, I've, I just changed my business big time in the last year and so I've had a massive decrease of in income and I keep.

Realigning it to be more and more in my zone of genius and what I choose to do. And so it's been amazing to have, even in those spaces where income is going down and I'm spending more than I used to, to, you know, scale, right? I don't have that feeling of fear like I used to. It's like, oh, I know I'm resourceful, you know, this is part of the game and I'm ready for the next growth spurt.

And so my mindset around everything is just completely different, and it really causes me to be able to wake up in the morning and be [00:30:00] inspired and feel good. And when I'm off. I have the tools to pivot quickly. You know, it's not like I wake up every single day just a hundred percent, you know? Awesome.

Like I don't want people to believe that because I don't, I don't think that's accurate. For anyone. For anyone. Yeah. And so when I do wake up off, I have the tools and I implement them, and so it's such a gift to know that it's possible to feel good and to have experienced it the majority of the time.

And so now, I just get to live this experience where it's like, my husband and I are like best friends. We love each other so much. My business is awesome. I love the people I get to work with and everything that I'm creating in the world, it's fun for me, you know?

And so it's like, oh, yes, yes, yes. And that's really how I want everyone to be able to feel. I, I want everyone to know that that's possible and that I can help guide them in that direction.

[00:30:46] Shannon Russell: you built that yourself. Your kids got to see you build this and see you get them from one place to where you are now.

And how inspirational is that for you to have showed

[00:30:58] Amanda Barrientez: that to your [00:31:00] children? Yes. It's, oh, Shannon, I think that's maybe one of the best parts of it. Mm-hmm. I get to recreate and break the intergen generational transmission of poverty in my family. Especially for the women, like it's, I have a history of so much women disempowerment in my lineage and it's like, oh my God.

I get to empower myself and my daughters and my, and now I have a blended family, so three biological and, and one step, and it's like all of them, I get to just help them, right? Have such a leg up from where I started. You
